Tips for hyperlinks

Keep them meaningful

Link words that can describe the link without relying on the surrounding text.

Make them accurate and specific

Don't link words that indicate a site's general page or home page if you're taking someone to a specific part of that site. People don't like surprises.

Keep them short and "frontload" your links

You don't need to mess about linking padding like "Read more about." Research by NielsenNorman has shown that people mostly look at the first two words of a link, so keep them active and concise.
